Frequently Asked Questions
Is it better to mail in entries or enter
 online?

 I always try to
 diversify my entries. If
 you can enter both
ways, do it. It only give
you more chances. If the sponsor is pulling some winning entries from online and some from the mail-in's then you have just increased your odds of winning.

How is it you are so lucky?
Ughhhh!!! I can't stand it when people say that!!! There is a small percentage of luck, but it is mainly hard work, persistence and patience! Read my article Luck of the Draw, Divinity or Determination.

How can I tell if it is a legitimate contest and not just a scam?
As always, READ the rules. If you are seriously going to commit to sweepstaking then you need to treat it like any other business. Be wise. No sweepstakes should ever ask for money. The exception would be a skill contest (like writing) where they require an entry fee. Even then, be very careful.

Do people really win all of those prizes?
Yes indeed they do. I have furnished half my house with my winnings. Read about some of my winnings, Sweepstakes - An Individual Stimulus Package.

Where is the best place to find sweepstakes?
Subscribe to a good sweepstakes publication. A few good ones are: Sweepsheet and Best Publications.

A great site for sweepstake supplies is
Sweeping America.

Can I list a contest or sweepstake on your site?
Contact me.
Do many people enter these contests?
 Yes, in fact the
 competition if very
 steep. But what in life
 is ever free? If you
 want to be successful
at sweepstaking you are definitely going to have to work at it. But I might add, the pay is very, very nice. To find out more about your competitors, read my article Know Your Sweepstake Competitors.

How much time does it require to do sweepstaking and how long before I see a return on my investment?
Time spent in sweepstaking is an individual decision. I usually spend about 4-6 hours a week. As far as return on your time and efforts in sweepstaking I generally tell people to give it at least 6 months before you even think about being discouraged. Here's why. When you send in an entry, it will probably be 20-30 days before the judging agency draws the winner. It could then take them 30-60 days to notify you that you have won. Then it will probably be about 30-60 days before you receive your prize. The entry you are sending in today is an investment for prize returns later. Now you can see why so many people start sweepstaking but few last long enough to see the fruits of their labor. Still have questions? Read my article
Sweepstakes A Wise Investment of Your Time?

How many entries should I send in?
It depends. To analyize a contest, read my article
Sweepstakes How to Calculate the Odds.
